Default Problem with connecting to a Dell Inspiron 1525

I know the modem works OK (and it is not my account) because the modem works in my older laptop (Toshiba Satellite) and in an Apple Mini.

The software installed and everything worked until I plugged it in and then there was an error message telling me that it wasn't plugged in.

Has anyone else had this problem? One post elsewhere suggested it was a matter that the laptop wasn't providing enough power to the device.

The device lights up and shows several bars.

I don't think it's the power issue. If it doesn't see it as plugged in, it has to do with drivers.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.

Wow, Um, I need to figure out what to do.
Basically we bought this, and the tech guy said I needed to install the cd first before plugging in the modem.
But my cd drive is busted i found out, so like Im trying to figure out where to download the drivers from, because another tech guy said I could just get the drivers online and just use it that way.. but I didnt think to ask where. -.-;
Any suggestions?

Not sure where you are going to find the drivers for this to download from.

I suggest finding someone with a working CD ROM, and copy the files to your laptop somehow (i.g. USB flash)

"Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers."

What drivers? Where do I get the drivers?
Thanks for your help.

Did you get a CD when you purchased the card? Or maybe it's included in the Windows already. When you go to Device Manager on your PC, look for the PC Card and you can install/ununstall the drivers.
