I work in construction so my phones are always taking abuse like dust, extreme temperatures, etc. The best phone I've ever had so far was a Sanyo RL-2000. It took a fall off a 3-story building and landed on a brick walkway without disconnecting my call. A change in service providers has left me without a rugged phone for two years now. The fact that this phone is waterproof makes it sound like just the phone for me.

Does anybody have a G'zOne (what a stupid name)? I'd like to hear some first-hand info whether or not this thing really holds up. My current wireless contract (not with Verizon) expires in 11 days so I'm trying to find out all the info I can.

I haven't personally used this phone but from what I hear, that's exactly the type of phone this was designed to - to withstand shocks and water resistance.

If I were you, I'd give it a try. They give you 1 month or so to try it and if you don't like it, you can cancel.

Anyone able to find a data cable and software that allows you to copy PIX from your phone to the notebook.

My understanding is that the OBEX is locked by Verizon, etc.

Thanks,
Greg
