Default Verizon noob needs help

Hey guys, im new to the Verizon community. I got the Razr V3m. I am trying to upload mp3 ringers to my phone with no success. I searched and found most people use BITPIM. I downloded it but Im having problems. It wont detect my phone, but if you click the "phone info" button it will tell me the type of phone, my number, battery strength and a few other details. That tells me the phone is communictaing with BITPIM, but when I hit the "connect to phone" button it does not detect my phone. Ive downloaded every USB driver there is, Ive even tried uninstalling everything and starting over. The USB cable I have is not motorola specific. I bought it like 5 years ago to transfer files from my digi-camcorder. It also works for my PSP. Could this be my problem? Everytime I plug it in, my computer beeps, and the phone starts to charge.

I also read somewhere on here that you can send your phone a ringer without the memory card and save it as a ringer. I tried that and no good. I got an email back saying undeliverable.

So now I turn to you guys for some guidance. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know the phone is relatively old, but its new to me, so please bare with me.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to Verizon. By your username I almost deleted it thinking it's a fake one for a spammer. Glad I didn't.

Your trouble sounds typical of Motorola phone owner.

Check out the Motorola phone section to see if someone else figured it out a way to get around it. Good luck.
