Update your PRL regularly
Verizon does update your PRL (Preferred Roaming List), which tells your phone where to look for service.
It can be updated to your phone simply by *22899 SEND.
You'll hear some music playing while it downloads the new PRL, which takes about a minute depending on your phone. Once done, the phone will reset automatically and you'll have the new PRL on your phone.
Most of times, you'll not notice any difference. In fortunate cases, your phone may work better in certain areas where it didn't work so well in the past.
It's worth doing once in a while.
