Default 2gb PNY micro SD format failed message!

Not sure how much use this BB gets, but if anyone has a thought on this I would appreciate the help.

Recently got an A990. Works fine, nice phone. Battery appears to suck...

Installed a 2gb micro sd and tried to format it as the instructions say. The formatting card message appears for about 3seconds, then another message appears saying formatting failed.

However, in the tools/memory/card memory/memory usage display the phone appears to be using the card shows total used (512k), available (1.89gb)and lists my pix, flix, etc. If I take a picture it is stored on the card.

Is the sd card actually formatted and the phone message incorrect?

Thanks,

Rick

Since everything works fine, I'd assume this was the case.

Smile 2 gig flash

I've heard that 2 gig flash works, as it appears to on yours. I seem to remember that the manual says 1 gig is the limit. Maybe it the format is ok, that it works fine, but the format function will not work for larger than a gig. I've been using 512 mb but I'm still hanging on to my 30gig iPod so I don't try and cram alot of music on my phone.

YMMV
