Apparently, this locks you up for another 2 year contract.

I guess they figured it's much cheaper to lock you in for another 2 years by giving 1 month free than losing you to the competitor and/or give you a new phone.

My daughter purchased a new phone and was told we could receive one month of free service. So far, I have signed up for this, and no mention of the free month.

I thought it meant you get one month free of your monthly fee, not unlimited calls in one month with your paid monthly fee.
