Understanding Data with Smartphone Vs regular Phone

Ok its still looking like im going to have to put data block on my plan. What i dont understand is on a non smartphone with my messaging package, pix messages are included and are free of kb charge. but with a smartphone they arent? not sure why im no understanding the sense behind this. Would you know why?

i believe picture messaging and flix messaging are free on smartphones it just says that its using data but verizon should get rid of those charges due to your package like i have unlimited instant messenger so when i use instant messenger they got rid of those data charges and if thats not true i still think its pointless to block it becuase its like 15 to 30 cents a picture

if you have unlimted text picture message included then vzw gets rid of the charges no matter if its a smartphone/non-smartphone phone doesnt matter its your plan....

Thanks i appreciate it, i did get the wifey the palm centro and then put internet block on the account. i will be getting the q9c but not until aug 21st to get some money discount on it. thanks

There is a data plan only for PDA/smartphones. Regular handhelds don't have a data plan. They are pay as you go unless you have the VCast VPack which is $15 on regular handhelds. Then you would have unlimited data usage. I recommend VCast Vpack for any verizon user. It is beneficial. You have unlimited data and unlimited basic video clips. Mobile TV is a seperate feature but it is very cool as well. For PDA/Smartphones, there is a pix/flix pay per msg feature that allows you to send pic and video messages as you go. I'm not sure if it is included in your data plan?
