can i do this with BB...

Hi All! I've been a sprint customer for years and LOVE my treo 700p - i am about to jump ship to Verizon and think i want a BB Curve - but i have a couple questions i can not seem to find answers to anywhere lol

1. with a program installed my treo lets me connect to my laptop so that i can move files ( pictures, videos, whatnot ) back and forth - can BB do that?

2. my treo with a program also lets me PAM - without paying an additional ridiculous fee - can BB do that?

3. can i make or get my own ringtones for BB?

4. my treo has to "hot sync", well doesnt HAVE to but it backs it up and can do installs and stuff like that - Does BB need/do that?

thanks in advance! i am a total newbie to BB and really do not know what i need to ask about it yet to make sure i want it over my treo lol

I have the BB Curve from AT&T, not Verizon and I think I can answer some of your questions.

1. You can a blackberry desktop manager program with your phone so you can connect to it to install new programs and back things up, and transfer files back and forth.

2. You can use your BB as tethered modem but Verizon will charge you for the Broadband Access.

3. I think so, but not 100% sure.

4. With BB, it actually sync wirelessly and automatically with all your e-mails, and contacts, etc. Pretty much anything on my Outlook.
