Using Backup and Restore to backup data - BlackBerry
Backing up Blackberry Data
  1. Plug in the Blackberry device via cradle or usb cable.
  2. Launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager by selecting Start > Programs (All programs) > Blackberry > Desktop Manager.
  3. Double-click Backup and Restore.
  4. Click Backup.
  5. Click Save.
    The Backup file will be named with the current date and saved in My Documents.
  6. Backup is complete when Transfer in progress window closes. Click Close to close out of Backup and Restore.
Backing up Blackberry Data with Advanced options
  1. Plug in the Blackberry device via cradle or usb cable.
  2. Launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager by selecting Start > Programs (All programs) > Blackberry > Desktop Manager.
  3. Double-click Backup and Restore.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Under Handheld Databases, select the database(s) then click the Left Arrow to transfer.
    • Selecting a range of databases: Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and select the range of databases
    • Selecting databases in different sections: Hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and select the individual databases.
  6. Backup is complete when Transfer in progress window closes and the Desktop File Database displays the data transferred. Click File > Save As.
  7. Click Save.
    The Backup file will be named with the current date and saved in My Documents.
  8. Click Close.
  9. Click Close to close out of Backup and Restore.
