Default Equipment Protection

Description

There are three types of equipment protection available: Extended Warranty, Wireless Phone Protection and Total Equipment Coverage. The monthly fees for these services are charged directly to your Verizon Wireless bill.

Extended Warranty
provides convenient coverage against any mechanical or electrical malfunctions and manufacturer defects after the manufacturer's warranty expires. Cost is $1.99 monthly per phone.

Wireless Phone Protection
provides insurance coverage for your wireless phone and certain accessories. This coverage is provided by a third-party licensed insurance agency (Asurion). If your phone is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, report your claim within 60 days and the phone will be replaced. Cost is $4.99 monthly per phone and a $50 non-refundable deductible will apply.*

Total Equipment Coverage
offers complete protection for your wireless equipment. It combines the benefits of Wireless Phone Protection (offered by a third-party licensed insurance provider) with the discounted Verizon Wireless Extended Warranty program. If your phone or covered accessories are inoperable for any reason-lost, stolen, accidentally damaged, or malfunctioning-you can be covered. Cost is $5.99 monthly per phone with a $50 non-refundable deductible for each insurance related claim.

How to Get It
Verizon Wireless customers activating new equipment can only enroll at the point of activation or within 15 days of equipment activation.

How to Use It
If your phone is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, file your insurance claim directly with Asurion.
  1. If your equipment is lost or stolen, call Customer Service immediately at (800) 922-0204 to suspend service.
  2. Report the incident to the police department to obtain a police report and case number.
  3. Contact Asurion to file your insurance claim:
