Default Are all the bluetooth headsets the same?

If I buy any bluetooth headset, will it work with any Verizon phone that supports bluetooth?

A while ago, Motorola got into trouble for only allowing their phones to only work with Motorola branded bluetooth. Is this still the case?

If I buy an LG VX-8600 and get the bluetooth headset from somewhere else, will it still work together?

After some research, it seems you can use other brands bluetooth headsets with your bluetooth enabled phones.

For LG VX-8600, I've heard that LG HBM-730 headset works the best.

It seems different bluetooth headset works best with different handsets, so you may want to try a few and return the ones you don't like.

Thumbs up

I have just bought this headset for my VX8600 and it works GREAT. I highly recommend.

It is small, weighs next to nothing, and the sound quality is very nice.

It is also pretty reasonably priced...$59.99 at Best Buy.

I haven't used a bluetooth headset yet and don't plan to. I just see too many people walking around with the bluetooth headset in their ear, even when they are not using it, and it just look pretty ridiculous.

I know what you mean.

My current phone isn't bluetooth enabled but my next phone will most likely be.

I promise I won't wear the headset unless I'm actually talking to someone.

There is a new technology for bluetooth headsets that really enhance the quality of digital signal (DSP). Costs more, but a vast improvement so I am told. I just ordered Plantronics DISCOVERY655 Discovery 655 Bluetooth Headset with DSP and Pocket Charger. I will give you a good review on how it works with the new MotoRrzr after it arrives and I have a week or so to test it out.

you definately get what you pay for with bluetooth headsets. they start at 39.99 at a vzw store for the jabra vbt135. Although they will all "work" with your phone. it is best to try to stick with the brand of headset that your phone is as they will always talk better with no compatibility issues

the only exception is the H700Z from motorola. This headset has software in it to support all models of phones and will work equally well with any phone. It is the only bluetooth i can safely say that about.
