Default [Please Read!] Question about transfering data from and old to a new phone...

I have the first LG Chocolate, I believe its the VX8500 or something or the sort, and to keep a long story short, its broken.
It turns on then turns off.
I want to know, when i get my new phone and they transfer my media (videos, images, etc.) and my contacts, do they see the images as they're being transfered or anything of the sort?
I have private images on my phone that I'd like my dad who will probably be with me while this is being done, and the person who is transfering them, not to see them.
Any help about this subject would be great!
Thanks!

I'm not the tech at Verizon but my guess is they transfer the contacts info but not the media files.

And even if they did, the transfer machine they have just shows whether the transfer is done or not, and files names. I don't believe they have the image reader to see the pictures and videos.

But, it's possible that when they do the transfer, they may temporarily store the data before transfering it to the new phone and who knows what they do with it. Most likely delete but I don't know.

Yeah, I wasn't sure because my girlfriend (who is currently out of state) says that they were transfering her media files, but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your input!
