What is the worst phone?
I think everyone has their own preference in what they like in phones in terms of features, color, price, etc.
So, instead of asking what is the "best phone", which the answer should be different for everybody, I would like to to what is the "worst phone" that the customers have the most complaint with?
I think that should help people avoid the hassle of picking the worst phone and have to be either stuck with it for 22 months or have to go back to the store within certain number of days to pick the different phone.

this can be broken into several parts... First. If it is which phone is the worst choose to purchase right now, it would have to be the audiovox cdm 180. you can get it free on vzw's website. The problem isn't that it is a bad phone, it is that the store's never sold it (it was only available online) and as a consequence, the tech locations never have any experience with the phone if you have a problem with it and absolutely never have the phone in stock if they can't repair it so you are always waiting the 2-3 days to have them fed ex it to you.
With regards to the worst phone as far as problems right now, we in all honesty don't have any. That doesn't mean all our phones are perfect, but rather it means that any known issues have been fixed by software upgrades or that the phone is so new that we haven't heard of any issues yet.

Historically Worst Phones - samsung a650/670
Okay, i know that not all of our phones have been as reliable as the STARTAC which you still see some people with because that thing is the tank of phones, but here is an example of a "bad" phone.
The samsung a650/670 had a known issue acknowledged by samsung regarding the hinge cracking and causing the phone to seperate at the flip. the problem was caused because the phone had a status light on the right side of the flip and that took away from the overall strength of the flip and created a weaker stress point. if the flip cracked it was always around the LED light and if seperated you could possibly lose your display (whether by blank screen or by the top half of your phone physically falling off). All later models such as the a630, a850, a950 , a930, a990 have learned this lesson as you can tell by much thicker hinges than their cousins, and also you will notice that not one of these phones has a status indicator light where the 650 and 670 had theirs

Historically Worst Phones - any V series Motorola
Okay, i know that not all of our phones have been as reliable as the STARTAC which you still see some people with because that thing is the tank of phones, but here is an example of a "bad" phone.
So what is a V series? well if this charger works with your phone then you have one. Now don't worry, Some of these (like the e815) are in my opinion the best phones you could have as far as signal strength, call quality, and ability to edit and customize through seem edits and other programming. The problem is the stupid charging port.
Historically speaking 20-30 % of the phones i see in a given day are motorolas (very low percentage considering it is the most popular brand in america for cell phones) and of that 20-30%, 90% of the problems with these phones, when not water damaged, is inability to charge. Its amazing. come into a store and see for yourself. every v60 series, v120 series,c343, v260, v265,v276, v710, a840, e815 is a stupid charging port issue. The problem is that it isn't covered so the exposed port gets dirt or corrosion on it eating away at the contacts and causing it not to charge. We have a decreaser and cleaning brush as well as pick to clean the port and can typically fix it but it is the inconvenience of the frequency to which we see these phones. As you will notice, all phones after the e815 were made with the mini usb port and the KRZR has a stopper to keep debris from going into the port to stop this problem from ever occuring again.........we hope

Quick thing to add, the ports have corrosion because they are made of copper. All ports by all cell phone makers are copper. the reason they use this metal is it is much cheaper than gold with similar conductivity properties for electricity. It isn't that motorolas use inferior copper, but rather until recently moto was one of the only cell phones that didn't come with a port cover out of the box.

Historically Worst Phones - the LG series 3 port....
Okay, i know that not all of our phones have been as reliable as the STARTAC which you still see some people with because that thing is the tank of phones, but here is an example of a "bad" phone.
You crazy lg guys thought you were getting off easy didn't you? the LG series 3 port, found on many models but most notably on the lg 6100, lg 5200, and lg 8100 have a little rectangle which is attached to the housing of the charge port and allows for the charger to click into place. The problem is that any prolonged tension from talking on the phone while it is plugged into a car charger or other ways will over time weaken the port and cause the rectangle to fall out. If you notice it, no problem. it will be exchanged under warranty or if it is over 1 year old then just super glue it back in place.
The problem occurs when you don't notice it, and try to put the charger in the port which effectively destroys the copper contacts making it impossible to charge. Most techs will still offer the 50 dollar out of warranty exchange but if the port is damaged, you ain't gettin' it for free.

Hey all, i'm new to this site and it has some good info. I own a few indirect locations in NYC and as i read the last few post about which phones have specific problems i laugh to myself because it's so true, especially the samsung a670 hinge issue.
